So you Wanna Organize?
You are embarking on a challenging and rewarding role in our group. It can be overwhelming and a little intimidating stepping up into an Organizer position but once you get the hang of using the system and knowing where to look for resources, it becomes very easy and fun! These tools will help you to become a successful organizer. Good luck and if you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask...
What is an Assistant Organizer?
An Assistant Organizer or AO for short is a very important role in our group. To be able to offer many different and fun activities for our members, we need Assistant Organizers to help plan the events as well as help with various responsibilities to make our group successful.
How do I become an Assistant Organizer?
Most AOs are choosen because they are bringing something wonderful to our group, and the "AO" title makes it easier for them to do their duties. If a member is interested in being an AO, they must follow the group's policies, and:
*be active in the group
*be energetic about the group and their role
*be responsible
*be organized
*be willing to help the team reach their goals
In addition, it also helps if the member has been an active member for at least 2 months, but it's not required. Some Assistant organizers have been asked on specifically by the organizer for specific reasons. Others have had an idea for the group, such as a 'sub group' or 'program', or a mass idea of events, and offered to put it into action. We encourage members to become group leaders for such things like "charity leader" or "fitness leader". Please contact Crystal if you have an idea you'd like to put into action!
I'm an AO! What's expected of me?
Congrats! Now that you are an AO, besides the requirements mentioned above, Aos are expected to follow certain guidelines as follows:
*Remain respectful of other organizers. We are a team, and although we may have different goals for the group, we are all here for the same reason: To bring to together moms and kids!
*Please post/host (Host in meaning, show up and run the show, whether it be at a park, show, etc.) an event at least once a month.
*Check in with the organizer once a week. (phone number will be provided) This helps keep all Ao's work corrdinated together so there are no problems.
*PLEASE stick to your specific duties. (Will be explain at time of 'promotion') If something needs to be done otherwise please contact the organizer to either get it taken care of or get permission to.
*Please limit your mass emails to news about important upcoming dates or changes. Other emails should be cleared through the organizer first.
Congrats! It's a wonderful rewarding experience to organize! We're glad you're joining the team!
